A Podegi is a traditional Korean carrier similiar to a Mei Tai, but without the bottom strap. The top straps are wrapped around mom and baby and create a secure bottom. They are amazingly comfortable, easy and quick. Pods can be worn with the strap over your shoulders or tied around your body creating a shoulderless carrier, ideal for wearers with neck/shoulder problems.

All of our designs feature a more modern narrow blanket and are available in a variety of fabrics. You can choose between a full wrap conversion Pod (WCP) or a partial conversion using a wrap for either the body or the straps. Padded mei tai straps are also available. Want the best of both worlds? Go with our Mei-Wrap straps! Padded MT straps open into full wraps straps.
Straps come in three lengths, S, M, and L. Short straps are aprrox 65 inches. Medium straps are approx 75 inches and Long straps are approx 90 inches. X-short, x-long or custom strap lengths are available.

For a WCP, you need a 40" peice for the blanket. For the straps, you need the total length plus six inches for hems and attaching. A size 3 wrap will give you a full conversion Pod with approx 75 inch straps (depending on the steepness of the tapers and the true measurement of the wrap).

The bottom of the Pod can be finished in several ways. First is a basic straight edge hem. If you are doing a WCP, you can use the tapered end of the wrap to create an angled bottom hem. And my personal favorite...fringe! Fringe is a beautiful way to accent a WCP. It highlights the bottom of the carrier and adds a lot of character. Don't have a fringed wrap to convert? I can add fringe! I need an additional 6 inches from a straight edge to add fringe.

Excellent choice for tandem babywearing!
